My Journey
Painting started as a hobby but has become a significant part of my life!
In 2019, if you had asked me about my preferred painting medium, I wouldn't have known much about acrylics or oils. I had never used them in my 33 years until I randomly signed up for an acrylic painting class at the Philly Art Center from February to April. Later, I began oil painting with Stefanie Lieberman at the Woodmere Art Museum from April 2019 to March 2020.
Although my artistic journey began not long ago, my ongoing commissions, shows, and awards symbolize my success. My teacher often comments on my continuous growth as a painter. Since 2020, I have received many commissions, especially for pet portraits. When asked about the key to my success, I always say: never limit yourself to one medium. Experiment with different techniques and media to explore more. Have fun and keep creating. Also, never stop learning from others through workshops, demos, and classes.
In 2021, I donated two paintings to Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens (PMG), where founder Isaiah Zagar discovered them and commissioned me for more, marking my biggest commission so far.
In 2022, my painting "Wissahickon Trail" won first place from juror Bonnie Mettler in the 9th Annual Plein Air competition at Whitemarsh Art Center.
